Song Writing

This was the time of the pandemic in 2020. Each day the news channels were focused on reporting the devastation caused by the Corona Virus in Italy and America. The mood was pretty somber and an atmosphere of prayer had already set in all over the world. About this time I received a WhatsApp video that encouraged me to try song writing.

After writing the song, I was left with the job of finding people who would be willing to compose music for the song and also to sing it. Quite a task I thought, but having come this far, I was not prepared to give up. Luckily, a brother sister duo in their teens came to my rescue. Within a fortnight our first song was complete. My song writing journey had begun.

Launching Music Channel

Encouraged by what happened, I pursued my new found passion with relentless zeal. Sometimes a question acts as a better trigger than a statement, opening up our mind to explore the possibilities around rather than resigning to fate.

The acts of the nurses, doctors and other paramedical workers fighting Covid inspired me a lot. As time passed by more and more examples of them reaching out to patients, staying away from their loved ones, going without food and sending prayer requests for those who were critical started coming to light. This motivated me to write the song “Quarantine”. I passed on the lyrics to our team of musicians who by this time were getting a little restless because we had not posted any of our songs on youtube. We now intensified our search for that elusive somebody who could do some great videos for us.

It was July 2020 and we were finally lucky to run into somebody who volunteered to do videos for us. Since the pandemic was the focus all over we decided to start with the song Quarantine first. This was our way of passing on a message of hope to the world.

Some of the reviews we received for our maiden youtube venture “Quarantine” were great considering the fact that all of us were doing what we were doing for the first time.

Our First Release

Publishing book — “For the Saint in Your Womb”

This was another event that was an occasion of great joy for me in 2020. What started as a project for the completion of a course in 2010 was now an awesome book of 156 pages with a beautiful cover and some great pictures.

I can only thank the Almighty for the wonderful blessings that were showered on me during a time when almost everybody struggled in some form or the other. Though I had my share of problems in 2020, beginning my journey as a songwriter, launching my music channel and getting my book published were all awesome experiences.
